Scarlet Fever Outbreak

It has come to our attention at the Homewell.Curlew Practice that there has been an outbreak of Scarlet Fever in a local school.

Scarlet fever, also called scarlatina, is an infection that causes a blotchy, pink-red rash. It’s most common in young children, but can affect people of any age.

It isn’t usually serious and can be treated with antibiotics from your GP. Once you’ve had it, you’re unlikely to get it again.

If you are concerned that you or your child may have Scarlet Fever you should book an appointment online or contact the practice to see your GP.
